We are always welcoming people looking to contribute to The Nairnshire Community Newspaper. This could be by submitting content, getting involved with the charity itself, or volunteering with any of our teams.

Submissions
News
To submit an article to The Nairnshire, please email us at:

Articles are recommended to be an average of 300-400 words. Feature length (whole page) articles are estimated to be 1,000-1,500 words long. Shorter articles and/or announcements may be discussed with the editorial team. Accompanying photography is encouraged.

The above guidelines are recommendations; please feel free to write whatever article length suits you, so long as it is relevant to Nairn & Nairnshire.

What's On
To submit an entry to our monthly What's On centrefold, or list of organisations, please email us at:

What's On entries should include a title, listing organisation, time/date, and description of no more than 200 characters.
​
Entries may encompass one-off events, regular meetings & gatherings, general organisation information, i.e. org descriptions and contact details, or local activities.
​
If your What's On entry does not meet the recommended guidelines, the What's On team will contact you to clarify your entry and/or edit as appropriate.

Advertising
To discuss the inclusion of paid advertisement in The Nairnshire, please email us to discuss at:

Adverts in the Nairnshire can be a variety of sizes & prices, including standard inside page ads, and premium front and back cover adverts.
We also offer a simple paid design service, if requested.

Our Editorial Process:
Every submission is reviewed by one of the Editorial Team and proof-read before we include it in the newspaper. We fact-check any references to third parties and ensure the articles we publish presents a balanced view. Final decisions on content for publication rests with the Editorial Team.

By submitting content (including articles, photographs, what's on information, and advertising) you give The Nairnshire Community Newspaper permission to publish this in both the printed and online editions of the newspaper and on our social media channels.

We are very open to volunteers joining the teams here at the newspaper. These teams include:

Each team has their own set of responsibilities, which collide and overlap with regularity. For example, members of the Editorial Team may also be members of the Proofing Team, or on the Board of Trustees. The newspaper is primarily run by volunteers and we appreciate their hard work in making, organising, and facilitating the creation and distribution of The Nairnshire Community Newspaper each month.
